A resource offering innovative, practical, motivating ways of studying poetry at GCSE.Unlocking Literature provides poems in electronic format and also presented in a variety of other forms: in tables, desequenced, 'mapped', 'collapsed' and so on, as well as offering approaches ideal for the interactive Whiteboard. Together they present starting points for investigating poetry texts which can be used 'off the peg', allowing you to explore a number of methods, including the direct use of ICT to teach poetry texts.
The CD-ROM contains all of the pre-1914 poems in the OCR and AQA A and B anthologies, each of the poems presented in at least one (and often several) alternative ways, with suggestions about how to approach the text with students. The CD-ROM also provides a wide selection of practical suggestions and examples of how to approach individual post-1914 poems. Buying just one CD-ROM enables these resources to be altered, shared, filed and made available to many users on one site without the costs and difficulties of photocopying.
